Summary of Role

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Account Manager to join a well-established independent business, with over 20 years’ experience in the Whisky and Spirits industry internationally. As a Regional Account Manager, you will be reporting to the Head of Sales working to bring our brands to the UK market. Identifying key independent retail and on trade accounts within the London and Southeast area to gain distribution for our growing portfolio of brands, and to share our passion for everything we do. This role will give the right whisky and spirits enthusiast a chance to use their experience and knowledge to shape and influence a small company with big ambition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively seek out and chase new business opportunities to grow sales for both the on & independent retail.

  • Act as brand ambassador by delivering training and consumer taster sessions at events or with customers.

  • Develop a strong network with London based wholesalers.

  • Build and develop lasting relationships with key accounts and new customers.

  • To manage the individual customers P&L, including any promotional spend.

  • To win new distribution for our portfolio of brands across your area of responsibility.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • 2 + Years’ experience in selling branded spirits (especially whisky) to both on customers and independent retail within the UK.  

  • Demonstrating delivered growth through distribution gains, volume and value.

  • Strong whisky knowledge (essential).

  • Compelling and engaging communicator, must have excellent interpersonal skills to develop highly effective internal and external partnerships.

  • Strong commercial acumen.

  • Strong selling and negotiation skills.

  • A highly developed influencing style and enjoys constructively challenging and being challenged.

  • Proficient in personal planning and time management.

  • Experience of budgetary management.

  • Experience in customer category development.
